Hello! So today’s post is about one my favorite and recently discovered (by me haha) beauty trend: Eyebrow Microblading! Until recently I never gave a lot of thought to how important of a face feature eyebrows are! I guess because I didn’t have crazy eyebrows I was not very concerned with trimming them but that meant that I was not shaping them either. Aaaand since makeup is not my strongest skill I usually just left them alone.
One day thanks to (of course) Instagram and some of the girls at Bloguettes I discovered Microblading! I got super intrigued and I did some research.
What is Microblading?
It’s a semi permanent eyebrow technique. Unlike other techniques that make your eyebrows look like you shaped them with a Sharpie this one looks like real hairs!
How long does it last?
It last from a year to two years, it’s different for everyone!
What is the process of getting microblading on your eyebrows?
It would be a long answer so I decided to do this video with Melissa from Melt to show you.
What was my experience with it?
It was amazing! Honestly I freaked out a little bit the first time I did it because I thought they were a little dark for me but as the days went by they got lighter and I absolutely love them! It was a big change for me because I went from no eyebrow makeup to having these pretty brows, it changes your faces… ummm, makeup! 🙂
What I loved the most about the process is that it’s painless, there is absolutely no downtime, and it’s low maintenance. You do however have to go back after six weeks to get a quick 40 min to-60 min touch up.
My advice?
Research! Don’t just go with the first person that pops up on google search for microblading in your area. Go into their Instagram and look at their work and make sure you like their style. Something that I learned from Melissa is that Microblading is not regulated so a lot of people get into it without having the necessary experience or training. It’s an investment but do not sacrifice quality for price. Remember you are tattooing your FACE hahaha.
