Who Am I? Getting to Know Me

Call me Lore Who I am

Call me Lore Who I am

Hello guys,

So today my post is not about style, beauty, wellness or my favorite topic: Diego. Today, I am writing about myself! It feels kind of weird I’m not gonna lie (haha), but I thought it would be good for people that have been following my blogging journey along and also new people in my community to know a little bit more about me!

SOOOO here we go…

1. Where am I from?

I am from Mexico City. It’s where I grew up and where I spent the majority of my childhood. My family still lives there and even though they come to Phoenix frequently and we try to go there as much as possible, I miss them so much. I would say that’s the ONE thing that’s missing in my amazing life in here in AZ. But you can’t have EVERYTHING, right?

2. Do I have siblings?

YESSSSS I have two brothers. I am the middle child 🙂 But the only girl, so that makes it up for it I guess.

3. Why did I start Call Me Lore?

I wanted/needed a space that was mine! I wanted to create a place where I could talk about whatever felt good to me and also where I could create a community of like-minded women. I love doing Call me Lore not just because it’s an amazing creative outlet, but also because I get to share my passion for learning. If I am constantly learning new things, why not share them!

4. Where did I go to school?

I went to school In Mexico City for the majority of my life. While I was in high school I had the amazing opportunity to attend boarding school in Switzerland for one year and it’s still one of the best experiences of my life. I did the majority of my college studies in Mexico City at a university called Anahuac. While there, I went to Australia as an exchange student and then I had the AMAZING opportunity to attend grad school here in AZ at Thunderbird School of Global Management where I got my MBA and MA in International Business.

5. What is Bloguettes?

Bloguettes is the company I co-founded 4 years ago with, who is now my best friend, (and almost little sister) Sakura Considine. At Bloguettes, we are dedicated to helping entrepreneurs (majority women) turn ideas into a reality. We are a design and consulting studio that has been empowering women with knowledge for almost 4 years now. Bloguettes is also responsible for putting together our upcoming conference, The Workshop, and our new stock photography company called Stock That Rocks.

6. My ideal day is…

AT HOME with my family! I know it sounds boring or maybe not exciting, but it’s the opposite for me! I work A LOT and I don’t mind because I love what I do, but I love and value the time I spend with my son and husband. I want Diego to be proud of me and be the best mom I can at the same time.

7. How has being a mom changed my life?

It turned my world upside down! Social media made it look so easy (haha) but it’s NOT! It’s the most amazing role in life but also the most complicated. I am now more aware of the impact of my decisions, because I know that what I do affects someone else that I am 100% responsible for. I feel a responsibility to be a role model.

Also, being a mom brought a new feeling into my life: MOM GUILT. I struggle with it daily and even though it gets better and better, I feel like this is something that will be with me forever. Even when he’s an adult I am always going to feel responsible for him.

8. What’s my goal in life?

Honestly, to be HAPPY. It sounds so basic but I think it means so much. Happiness means different things for everyone and for me, it’s feeling secure, loved, fulfilled and always working towards something better. I always want to be grateful and mindful.

9. What’s next for Call Me Lore?

I want to Call Me Lore to not just be a personal blog, but a community of like-minded women that (like me) care about always being better. They love style, but are also passionate about health and self-improvement.

I couldn’t think of a tenth question 🙂 but if there’s anything else you want to know about me, just DM me on Instagram or comment below!

Thank you so so much for reading Call Me Lore, and I will see you in the next post!

P.S How cute is this outfit from local AZ Boutique Stephanies?

I loved reading this! Been following you for the past year and I’m so glad I found your page. As a young professional in business, it hasn’t been the easiest task finding other women who juggle work and home life that are also willing to share their experiences in these areas. How do you manage to stay committed to both? One of the things I struggle with the most is feeling that I have to sacrifice my home life to further drive my career, or vice versa.

      Hello Adriana!

thank you so much for stopping by the blog and for all the nice things you said! I do struggle constantly with mom guilt and also the feeling of sacrificing family time for my career. However every time I let myself think that way I remind myself that in order to make my family happy I need to be happy and fulfilled first. A happy mom is a good mom and wife 🙂
