It’s been awhile since I last posted on my blog, I let business get in the way and let any other excuse keep me from blogging. After I had some time to think, I asked myself, “Why haven’t I blogged if I love it?” When I was finally honest with myself, the true answer is that I was not 100% confident and I was not liking my pictures the way I used too. In fact, I was supposed to use the pictures I used in this post 2 months ago!! This is why I decided to write this post and use it as motivation to get back into blogging, and to not sit and wait until my confidence magically came back. I know Diego is already 6 months old and by now, everything should be back in place. However, I feel like just now I am feeling my mind and body going back to my “normal” self.
I’m sure I’m not the only person that has dealt with a mini confidence loss after becoming a new mom and trying to figure out how to be the best wife, mom, and entrepreneur. In my case, it was not just superficial things like, “Will my body will look the same?” “Do I look bad because I lost hair after the baby?” “Will I be able to make everything work?” “Will working less hours affect my business?” Soooo in case you need a little confidence boost, here are some things that have helped me:
My Tips for Building Confidence and Self-Esteem
-Focus on the positive. Try to stay away from people that complain, and surround yourself with positive, happy people. Just like happiness is contagious, so is negativity.
-Fake it till you make it. Even if you are having a bad day, pretend that you are not until it changes. In the end, everything is just in your head.
-When things get challenging, keep going! Don’t turn away from the challenge, face it and overcome it. There is nothing like the feeling of accomplishment that you get after you solved a problem or were able to finally put your baby to bed after a long night. Right moms?
-Don’t spend time worrying about what others think! For some time after Diego was born, I wanted everyone to think I was the best mom, but that was too much pressure! After some time, I decided to trust myself and make decisions for myself and not because I thought that’s what other people thought was right.
-Set realistic goals and expectations. Don’t try to overachieve, or you will set yourself up for failure. Break down your goals into small goals. Each milestone will help you to feel better about yourself.
Sooooo while I am not perfect, I evaluate and try to be better everyday. I am ready to make 2017 the my best year yet!
Hope you guys enjoyed the post!
Great post.
