Three….Two….One!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I can’t believe 2018 is gone and 2019 is here! 2018 flew by and it was full of learning, growth, and happiness! From Diego turning two and launching Majka, to Bloguettes transitioning to Wela Creative Studio, this year brought many changes and I’m thankful for the journey it was. However, I’m am SO ready for 2019!!
I love the idea of a fresh start with a new year! It’s a time to not only continue working to achieve your goals from the previous year, but it’s also a time to set New Year’s Resolutions and goals and focus on the things that you want to achieve!
One way I like to do this is to write them down! I created a PDF worksheet for you all that includes both a reflection on past achievements as well as a place to develop upcoming goals and resolutions. It’s also great to revisit at any point during the year… whenever you feel like you want to refocus on your goals. Keep reading to check it out!
The Priorities and Goals Worksheet
Because I believe that there is more that goes into a New Year’s Resolution (or any goal, for that matter) than just a broad statement such as, “I want to make more money” I broke down the Worksheet into three parts:
- My Biggest Wins This Far
- Upcoming Priorities and Goals
- Daily Schedule
I’ve included these specific aspects based on my own research. I’ve listened to SO many podcasts and read many different books on time management and goal achieving. I’ve included in the worksheet different aspects of goal achieving that have worked for me and have helped me achieve my goals based on my research! I hope they can help you reach your goals too!
Download and print the PDF below, then read on to learn about the three different sections.
1. My Biggest Wins This Far
For me, 2018 was a big year and so many things happened! Taking time to reflect on your accomplishments and how you reached those accomplishments will help you develop a game plan, whether you’re goal-setting at the beginning of the year or halfway through the year. Not only will it allow you to see how far you’ve come, but it will also show you the best ways to accomplish your goals for the future. Did Google Calendar help you organize your time so that you could spend more time with your kids? Great! Use this tool to help you manage your time to reach your business goals! Taking a few minutes to reflect on your accomplishments can help you create a game plan for your goals in the future and to see how far you’ve come.
2. Upcoming Priorities and Goals
As I mentioned in a previous blog post, I recently began to focus my life on three main priorities of family, work, and self-care, rather than try to reach a perfect life-work balance. It has relieved me of the stress of finding the perfect balance and put most of my focus on what is most important! In this section of the worksheet, think of three “Big Goal/Priorities” that you want to focus on, and include three steps (or mini goals) to help reach the big goal. For example, maybe your “Big Goal” is to “Be Healthy”. Your steps may be to 1) Eat a healthy dinner every night, 2) Workout 4 times a week, and 3) Drink 3 glasses of water a day. Getting more specific creates attainable things that you can strive for every day.
At the top of this page, I also include space for “My Personal Motivating Mantra”. Here, you can write down an overarching goal for the year. An example would be, “This year, I’m going to focus on using my time more efficiently by using Google Calander to keep my appointments organized.”
At the bottom of the page, there’s a spot to write your biggest motivation. My biggest motivation is to always be the best version of myself for Diego!
3. Daily Schedule
Schedule! Schedule! Schedule! If you know me, you know how much I advocate for scheduling (Google Calendar is my lifesaver!) This is because creating a daily schedule can help you manage your time and get more done efficiently. I wake up at 4 am every morning to get work done, whether that be answering emails or working on projects. It allows me to have quiet time to myself before the hustle of the day begins.
In this section, schedule out specific times in your day, like waking up early every morning to work. Obviously, every day will look a little different with meetings and appointments, but scheduling in time to eat breakfast every day, or workout at the same time every day, will help them become a habit. I’ve even included some tips as well!
My Goals for 2019
Going into 2019, I want to continue to focus on my 3 main priorities of family, work, and self-care and focus less on balance and more about living in the moment and enjoying life! Here’s what my goals look like:
- Create a better work structure so that I can grow both Wela Creative Studio and Majka.
- I want to soak in all the moments with my Diego as he continues to grow and learn more about the world!
- Set aside more time for myself to practice self-care so that I can continue to be the best I can be in all areas of my life!
