Hello and happy almost middle of the week! As I write this post I am in bed trying to get some work done before Mr. Diego wakes up again. Diego is almost 5 weeks old now and our new normal life seems to be falling into place. The first two weeks were so hard that it was difficult for me to imagine how I was going to be able to do my work, take care of the baby, breastfeed, spend some time with Dustin, and the list goes on. What I figured out is that I needed to take a step back stop being hard on myself and allow other people to help me. It sounds so simple right? Being the control freak that I am it has not been easy but I am getting way better at it 🙂 And life has been getting better and better!
So this week I started going to the office for a little bit and it feels amazing! Problem is, I have this voice in the back of my mind making me think I was a bad mom for leaving him for a couple of hours (with his nanny) while I go to work… You know what? It makes me a better mom! I come back happy and ready to spend time with him. I think it’s so important for us new moms to allow ourselves to think of ourselves and do what makes us happy so we can be better moms and wives.
In other news, I was terrified (not terrified enough to take time to take pictures for the blog haha) to take Diego out of the house by myself but we went to his first month checkup yesterday and it went great! He is healthy and growing! I know every mom says this but I am so lucky to have him! I feel that he is so patient with me, it’s almost as if he knew how nervous I am to do something wrong and he is trying to make me feel better. At the consultation he was more calm than I was and he didn’t cry once!
Since I haven’t been out much I decided that Diego and I needed to dress to impress on this post. I am wearing my new favorite Rag and Bone boyfriend jeans, a grey long vest from Theory, my silver mules, and a buttondown shirt from Equipment.
